Scott Alan Krim

Scott Alan Krim passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 6th, 2026, after a 14-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 63 years old.

Scott was born on Halloween in 1962 in Hempstead, New York. His family moved to New City in Rockland County, NY where he spent the majority of his childhood. The eldest of four siblings, Scott learned how to be a natural-born leader at a young age.

Scott attended George Washington University, where he studied accounting and played Division I tennis. That same determination carried him through more than 30 years as a CPA and founding principal of Claris Advisors LLC, where he built a financial planning practice devoted to helping closely held businesses, executives, high-net-worth families, and successful professionals achieve their financial goals in the most thoughtful way possible. Scott had a rare and intuitive understanding of the human side of wealth: the family dynamics, the generational transitions, the dreams behind the numbers.

But as proud as Scott was of his professional life, his family was always his greatest achievement. He was married to Pam for 37 years, a partnership built on love, laughter, and mutual devotion, and together they raised their four children in Wyckoff, New Jersey. He was unbelievably proud of his four children, and that pride radiated from him every day. To his three grandchildren, he was simply "Poppy," a role he cherished above all others. To so many people—his siblings, his nieces and nephews, his clients, his friends—Scott was a father figure: the first person to offer advice, a helping hand, or a kind word. His generosity was effortless; it was just who he was.

Scott loved connecting with people and found genuine joy in watching others grow. He enjoyed playing and watching tennis throughout his life—on the court, he was both an exceptional player and a natural teacher. Athleticism ran through everything he did, and he also loved golf and pickleball, especially when he got to share the game with those he loved. He served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations, always giving more than he took.

Over the last 14 months, Scott faced his illness with the same courage and refusal to quit that defined his entire life. He did not let his diagnosis define him. He kept showing up, for his family, his friends, and his clients, until the very end.

Scott is survived by his wife, Pam; his children Jared (Annie), Jesse (Lauren), Jordan (Kyle), and Jillian (Ben); and his three grandchildren, Aaron, Abigail, and Reuben, who will carry his light forward. He is also survived by his father, Richard and stepmother Joan; his six siblings, Lauren (Stephen), Todd, Adam, Cheryl, Rona (JP), and David (Laura); his mother-in-law, Barbara; and his sisters-in-law, Meryl (Rich) and Leslie (Bruce). He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet, his sister, Stacy, and his father-in-law, Irving.

Scott Krim exemplified optimism, gratitude, and passion. He left everyone around him better for having known him. He will be deeply and endlessly missed.
